Time is flying by and this Saturday the timetable goes live for you to fill in your talk slot if you’d like to give one. Hopefully we’ll see some great talks and I encourage people to sign up even if you’ve never given a talk before. Barcamps are a lot more casual and less pressure than conferences so come along and try it out. There have been some suggestions on topics, but what ever you want to talk about is fine by us. If you want to do a joint topic, that’s also great!
This time we’re also offering a chance to sit the LPI exams, “The Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC) program is designed to certify the competency of IT professionals using the Linux operating system and its associated tools. It is designed to be distribution neutral, following the Linux Standard Base and other relevant standards and conventions.” As an incentive also, the exams are being offered at a discounted rate, which is great ! The exams will be paper based and you will be able to sit LPI 101, 102, 201 OR 202 for £75 .
With this in mind….. Some people want to set up a study group, which I think is great, drop us a dm on twitter or email us and we’ll see what we can sort out, you can always find us on #ossbarcamp on irc.freenode.net
