About

Welcome to OSS Barcamp. We decided to run a themed barcamp this year in Dublin, taking place on the 28th March 2009.

It’s taking place at DIT Kevin Street Campus here in Dublin, thanks to Deirdre Lawless for all of her help. You can see by the map it’s very central

So who should come. Well everyone really, there are different levels of talks at the event, and we would encourage lots of Q&A so everyone gets as much information from it as they can.

Why you should come? To meet more people and interact, and put faces to names. There aren’t that many Open Source events here in Ireland and we should look to change that, by participating and promoting open source events.

We have two lecture rooms set aside for the event which can hold up to 50 people in each room, and also a smaller room for Girl Geek day! Talk should be about 30 – 40 minuets and can be less if you just want it to be a brief over view on what you are working on or are interested in, followed by discussion. I do hope to run a Lightning session if people are interested.

So remember, Saturday 28th March 2009, 10am – 5pm, hopefully we’ll do something afterwards! Stay tuned or why not follow us on Twitter
