Yes, OSSBarcamp is a wrap! At least for now. Thanks to all those who came, took part, gave talks and most of all interacted with everyone there.

It was a great to see so many enthusiastic people there and it does show me that there is a need for an outlet here in Ireland for Open Source events. There are so many conferences, events in Europe but it’s nice to have one in our own back-garden, one that is accessible to all and does not cost some ridiculous price to go to.

The topics varied, which was great as there was hopefully a topic to suit everyone, and if there wasn’t maybe next time you’ll give a talk. Some of the speakers have very nicely put links to their presentations here on the site so if you missed them you can see.

I’d like to thank DIT, especially Deidre Lawless for all of her help in running the event, she’s great! Echolibre who came on board when I didn’t even have a date or a venue, it’s great to see that much enthusiasm and support. Thanks folks!

With all of the comments and feed back I’ve received since the event, I’m pretty happy with the way things went, it was my first large event I’ve ran outside of college on my own whim, luckily I had the help from Jaime and James. Who both came on board when I mentioned I had an idea for a Barcamp. Kudos!

Clearly I’m bonkers but I’ve decided to run another Barcamp, date to be confirmed but I’m thinking late August, early September. Thoughts…..
